Depth: 5m Bottom: rock
and mud Holding: good Protection:
3 on 5 Area: 6 on
5 (amazing – glacier and high mountains) GPS: 54
47.79S 69 37.74W This is
must see place. One of most spectacular view in this area. Keep a
sharp look when entering Seno Pia. There is a lot of rocks on E part of
entrance and the electronic charts are not in property position (our Navionics
was moved more than 1 NM). Use a radar and pass the narrow entrance 600 meters from the W
coast. With the depth about 20m. There can be some ice rocks inside the bay. Drop the
anchor and tie 2 shore lines to the trees. Holding is quite good, not always
set well. If there is stronger wind from NE/E it’s not a safe place. If you want
to touch the glacier sail about 1.5NM north to the place shown on chart and
drift (if there is no wind you can use anchor, but holding is rather poor). Use
your dinghy to land on rocky shore. Go around (keep close to the shore line).
It takes about 15 minutes. The view is amazing.
