APPROACH AND ANCHORAGE
This
anchorage can be approached from the west (90 deg. route). Anchorage position:
19 53.233S
and 174 24.981W (6m depth, mostly sand, holding good)
This is
well protected anchorage, from N-NE-E-SE wind directions. Some boats anchor closer
to the island.
Watch on
the reef, which ends at the outer channel marker. Using above anchor position
you will not reach a reef.
DINGHY LANDING
Go to the
concrete wharf (is ruined but walkable). You can tie your dinghy there to the
rock. Alternatively land on the beach on the right from the wharf. You can tie
to the tree.
GROCERIES
There is few
small shop in the village, do not expect much. Some vegetables and fruits you
can buy from locals.

Digicel Sim card, a weak signal is covering the anchorage, but it’s working.

For crews
There are two
villages (Uiha on the north and Felemer on the South), both wide but not with
many houses. Few nice churches, some destroyed by cyclones. Not many to do.
The beach
around is beautiful, you can walk around and swim.
It’s
possible to walk across the reef to Tatafa
Island during low tide
(or go there by dinghy). The island is uninhabited, has lovely beach and many
flying foxes around.
