For boats
APPROACH
This is
medium size bay with about enough room for 10-15 boats. Approaching is easy,
the water is deep almost everywhere, no obstacles.
ANCHORAGE
It is very
safe place during N-NE-E-SE-S winds. It is also quite busy anchorage, many
boats meet there.
We dropped
anchor on position:
18 42.007’S
and 174 01.803’W (18m, sand and coral, good holding)
DINGHY
LANDING
Just go
ashore, landing on the beach.
FACILITIES
No
facilities
WiFi
If you have
Digicel Sim card, a weak signal is covering this anchorage.
For crews
This is a great
place to meet together with other cruising boats.
The beach
at the end of the bay is OK, but better ones can be find on Vava’u.
This
anchorage is used mostly for safety staying during strong E-SE winds or for
night stop.
About 1.3
NM NW is Swallow Cave – worth to visit. You can not
anchor there; a longer dinghy ride from there is possible.
