For boats
Only 20
minutes drive from Nadi International Airport,
Port Denarau Marina is Fiji’s
premier marina facility. As the hub of the integrated Denarau Island Resort,
Port Denarau Marina is the gateway to exploring our idyllic sun drenched
tropical isles of Fiji’s
West Coast.
APPROACH
Approach is
easy. The narrow but more than 5
meter deep channel is well marked by gree/red buoys with
light. The entrance to the channel is on position:
17 45.51’S
and 177.23.02’E
Follow the
marks and then to the left pier.
MARINA
Port
Denarau Marina provides berthage and marina services for commercial and leisure
craft up to 85m LOA at a depth of 5m MLWS on floating finger jetties and 14
swing moorings.
Marina is busy during high season, you
should book a place in advance (by e-mail or phone).
MOORING BUOYS
There are
14 swing moorings right from the wharfs. Contact with marina office first
(e-mail, phone or VHF CH14).
ANCHORING
Anchoring
inside the marina is prohibited, but many boats drop the anchor in the bay,
near the entrance of marinas channel. It
is on position:
17 45.32’S
and 177.22.96’E (about 10m)
This is
1.3NM of the marinas wharfs. Long way by dinghy.
DINGHY LANDING
If you are
on buoy or anchor you can leave your dinghy close to the gate on pier numer 3
(long, most left / South)
FORMALITIES
This is not
port of entry. Marina
can arrange a clearance, but you need to hire an agent and pay about 2000 F$. The
nearest place you can check in/out is Vuda Marina Fiji, about 5NM North.
MARINA FACILITIES
The Marina also has a 50 ton
Travel Lift and Boat Yard with plenty of on site services from small to major
repair jobs, to antifoul or a complete repaint. All the services expected from
an international marina facility are available.
Wanting to
leave your boat in Fiji
for the summer? Port Denarau Marina is able to accommodate up to 14 yachts in their storage cyclone
holes. Please enquire early as these are always in demand.
There is a
Yacht Shop near the Hard Rock Café. They are well equipped.

FUEL
There is a
fuel dock in the marina, easy to berth and fueling. They accept cash and credit
cards. Gasoline is also available.
WiFi
There is a
paid HotSpot in the marina. I had a Digicel SimCard with internet. 10 F$ per
2GB. Easy to buy in cities center.
GROCERIES
There is
well stocked supermarket near the marina, but their prices are little higher
than in the Nadi town. If you plan big shopping go to Nadi and visit many small
groceries and local market with vegetables and fruits.
TRANSPORT
The Taxi to
the nearest town of Nadi
is 10-15 F$, but there is a yellow bus called 1 dollar bus. Cheap and easy.
From the
main bus station in Nadi there are many buses to all directions. Most popular
to Lautoka is a 1.5 hour ride.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
There are
many different restaurants and bars around the marina. This is a busy center of
shopping, eating and entertiment.
For crews
Denarau Marina
is a part of modern Resort
Island where many shops /
restaurants and activities are located. Enjoy your night dinner and relaxing drink.
On the little square in middle of ccommercials almost every evening the dance
and fire show is presented by local groups.
I can
recommend scenic flight by sea plane. There is a small office where you can
book flights. Pick up to the airport from the marina. Price depends on flight
duration starts from 300 F$.
A city of Nadi is just few
kilometers from there. Do a one day trip there by taxi or yellow 1 dollar bus.
Visit a local market, main street with many shops and a Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple
(5 F$).
