For boats

Puerto Williams is the most southern town in the world.

Call Capitania de Puerto 30 minutes before arrival (VHF CH 16, call sign Puerto Williams Radio) and inform about your ETA.

This is very safe place. Moor longside directly to the wooden ship called Micalvi or to another boat. Four yachts rafting together is a regular situation. You can moore on both sides of Micalvi ship.

If there is no space for your boat moor to one of few buoys (see chart). At least you can drop the anchor before the buoys.

230V, water and Wifi is available on the deck of Micalvi Ship. Inside there is a club rooms, available for everyone.

Fuel: there is a OPEC fuel station (see chart). Use your jerry cans to deliver diesel to your boat (ask for help station’s stuff – usually they arrange a car). If you need tons of diesel you have to arrange a permition from Capitania de Portos, Opec stuff could be helpful in this, you will tank directly from a track berthing to commercial pier.

Propane bottles can be filled by Gasco

Formalities

1. First you have to visit Capitania de Portos (see chart). Take your boat document and passports. Check in to Puerto Williams – you will fill many forms about your boat, safety equipment etc. You will also pay a local tax for Lighthouses and Beacons (for 14 meters boat we paid about 70USD).

2. Next you have to visit Immigration (see chart). Appointments only at 10.00, 15.00, 18.00. If you check in to Chile all crew have to be there with own passports.

3. Customs (Aduana) is located in the same building. Captain will fill the form.

4. Departament of Agriculture is the last point – all crew have to go there, you will fill some forms, and the officer will visit your boat to check your food.

5. If you sail around Cape Horn or to Patagonian channels or to Puernto Montt you have to request a cruise permit (in Capitania de Portos). Prepare ETA of main points passing during the voyage.
